The Gig Guides format is simple and straight-forward. Each book/CD
pack contains 12 crowd-pleasing songs that have been carefully
selected and field-tested, presented to be performed in an order
to keep the audience entertained. Two-page lead sheets with the
melody, lyrics and chords are included for each selection, as well
as an intro page containing interesting song facts and suggestions
for the full band. Then, for each member of the band (vocals, guitar,
keyboard, bass and drums), there is a separate page of performance tips
and all of the must-know parts of the song written out. There are no
unwieldy note-for-note scores to sightread or complicated theory to
understand. Each Gig Guide also includes a CD that features full
performances of each tune(complete with vocals) by a four-piece band
-just as the song appears in the book. This CD is a convenient
collection of all the songs in one place, and it enables each player
to hear how the song should sound. Gig Guides can be used by bands or
by individual players.
